After much thought between the Evo Lite+ and the DJI Mavic 3, I settled on Autel as they are advertised to have no geofencing and Costco had it on sale for $850 which made it hard to pass up. The concept of geofencing is something I don't tolerate well. I can't imagine flying a remote control helicopter as kid, bringing it to an open field, and being told by my controller I cant use it. I understand why it exists, but I don't care and have plenty of common sense to comply with FAA regulations. It's a bit of a deal breaker for me. I received my Lite+ in the mail this week, and lucky me, the gimbal roll motor was defective brand new out of the box. Worked with autel and no amount of troubleshooting resolved the issue. We're not off to a good start but Costco replacements are pretty easy and my new one is on the way. While troubleshooting this issue, I read the manual in its entirety to which I found that all Autel drones are now geofenced. I confirmed this with their support team as well. That being said, has anyone run into a warning zone or a NFZ with an Evo series drone? Is it a pain in the *** to get approval to fly? Is it easier or more difficult to navigate than DJI geofencing? Would love any and all input from those who have experienced this.

THey are geofenced in countries with conflict and in China but not in the US. The sky app will warn you if your breaking the rules but it will not enforce it by limiting you or preventing you to fly.

They do prevent you from flying in geo fenced areas, know this for 100% saw with my own eyes

I would be interested to know where you were not able to fly the EVO Lite + due to airspace geofencing.

I have friends in Russia and all their autel drones became useless bricks after they updated their drones. It says "the aircraft is out of the designated country, can not take off."

As stated in post #2, "They are geofenced in countries with conflict and in China" Your statement, "They do prevent you from flying in geo-fenced areas, know this for 100% saw with my own eyes", one led me to believe YOU had experienced this not "your friends", and secondly there were areas elsewhere that geofencing was an issue.

Do you own the Evo Lite +?
Do you have this issue in Spain or wherever you live?

I said that because there was incorrect information provided above, I quote " THey are geofenced in countries with conflict and in China but not in the US. The sky app will warn you if your breaking the rules but it will not enforce it by limiting you or preventing you to fly."
That's not true as it simply prevents you from taking off!
And yes I do own the lite+, many issues🤦🏻

You didn't answer my questions.

Well I didn't try to go and fly at the airport on purpose! I only fly where it's 100% legal, so no, I didn't have this issue simply because I didn't fly at places where this issue can arise and happen!

The Autel Evo Lite + does not have geofencing enabled. [Read this Review] I own the Evo Lite Plus and have used it in areas with Airspace restrictions. My go-to drone is the DJI Air 3 but I have had a waiver in hand, LAANC approved,, and DJI unlock code installed, and still unable to take off with the Air 3. So, I use the Lite+ since I have the necessary authorization. So, you can see why I find what you say hard to believe. It appears to me based on what you said, you really don't know because you haven't tried to or the need to.

You can use a drone that does not have geofencing blocking capabilities in restricted airspace so long as you obtain the necessary approval. With that said, you must get the necessary approvals EVEN when using a drone that does.

Here is the proof if you don't believe.
The drones simply do not take off.
They might not have had geo fencing before, but now all autel drones are geo fenced, you can even ask them for the geo fencing area unlock in the app.

Exactly! Thanks for proving my point. Note, "The aircraft is out of the designated country, can not take off." This means the country in question is one mentioned in the previous post or the user is logged into an account that is located in a different country than they're in.

I am not going to continue this argument with you.
