Recently tried to join Dronebase the freelance drone pilot program with an Evo 2 pro 6k. This drone was not listed as approved. So I emailed their support and this is the response.

"We have found the Autel Evo 2 Pro is not capable of taking accurate geo-referenced meta-data which is required for DroneBase Client Missions."

They have the original Evo as approved. Why wouldn't the Evo 2 Pro 6k be as good or better?

Anyway just curious what you all think about this and if any of you have had issues with geo-referenced data when making maps.

These are the requirements that need to be met for approved drones.

The following requirements must be met in order to use your Drone to fly with DroneBase:

  • Must own and operate a DJI Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro or an equivalent/better drone
  • Must be able to take geo-referenced, 12MP images that have accurate latitude/longitude and altitude recordings
  • US Pilots are required to register your drone for commercial purposes if above 0.55 lbs
  • If international, please follow your respective regulations
  • Drone's camera must be able to take at a minimum 12MP images and 2.7k video or higher
  • 4k is Preferred
  • No fish-eye distortion
  • Gimbal must be set + level so as to prevent slants
