I know you're probably joking as nobody would shoot at an aircraft ?, but that got me wondering. Do these drone catchers qualify as "firearms", and if so, do they pose the same threat as say, shooting a firearm at an aircraft (which a drone is)?A shotgun is far more effective, if destruction is the goal!![]()
The drone catcher is just as illegal when used as the shotgun in terms of taking out an aircraft in the national airspace, because the FAA does not distinguish between drones and manned aircraft in that regard. Intentionally interfering with the flight of either is illegal, even if flying over your private property. The shotgun may also have additional restrictions when discharged in urban areas.I know you're probably joking as nobody would shoot at an aircraft ?, but that got me wondering.
