Enacting Sensible Drone Regulation on a Federal and Local Level

Thought provoking. Interesting take on that - blanket law (federal) vs patchwork of laws (state and local municipality). Either way it makes a bureaucrat happy to create more laws. At least on a local level there is an element of representation and discourse before the wide stroke of a pen to create a blanket law that fundamentally marginalizes people that make up a new industry. Now, I am not a lawyer, but the flip side (somebody correct me if I am wrong), under US federal law, the FAA is bound to the Commerce Clause in that they cannot interfere with interstate commerce. And if we are under this jurisdiction, we are somewhat protected. Maybe not the case for Canada. Wouldn't that be something if it was discovered that Transport Canada was violating some form of interprovincial commerce.;)
