My guess is the top one is a small 360° camera, true 360° but I am confused as you are about the honking big @ss thing on top of the other one.
Does look like everything is interchangeable

That BIG *** thingy is for the optional PHASERS or PHOTON Torpedoes to knock Klingon Drones from the SKY! LMAO!

I said that half joking, but then I read the link and it mentions that in the article.
Maybe for commercial work like flying into hostage or other areas that they want to communicate?
