I have had the same experience as the original poster and now I may have a solution! I spoke with Autel and they told me customers are having success with the current public beta for ios 11.25. I just installed and launched the starlink app with my drone connected and it's business as usual in the app at least. I have yet to take the bird up but I plan to tomorrow and if there are any issues flying I will report. You can access the public beta signup from here at: Apple Beta Software Program

I have android and cant take pics or video either. Is that my problem? Do I need to format the sd in exfat?

Your phone has nothing to do with the SD card in your drone. You should format your card inside the drone and not use a PC or any other device. If you still experience problems, replace the SD card.
