What mapping software other then the one included with the Smart Controller SE is available out there for the Autel EVO 2 V3? What are you guys using?

If you are referring to post processing the imagery, I'm using Metashape. It's some fascinating software, I'm finding new tweaks everytime I use the software. It's pretty cool and fun to use.

If you're meaning in the controller, I'm not aware of any other software to use. Autel's equipment and software is proprietary , I haven't seen any other software to work in the controller for the EVO.

Yeah I looked around and the only APP that is doing something is Dronelink but i cannot find anything else out there.

It sure would be great if Autel would work with 3rd parties more, especially in the area of compatibility with other software and apps.

DJI Ground Station has features I want, but is only for DJI and only works on an iPad, so 2 strikes against it.

Main thing I want is to use a large screen device like my PC's 27" monitor, input the vertices of the perimeter path, all the typical stuff (overlaps, speed, altitude, etc) and have the program design the photogrammetry mission to be flown and repeated thereafter. Using my fat fingers on a small touchpad screen, while trying to zoom and see the big picture (area) at the same time is very frustrating. Am I missing something?

100% I would love to be able to plan my flights on PC, save the missions, and upload to the RC. It would greatly simplify my life.

You can create missions without the drone being powered up? I do it all the time with my 10-inch Samsung tablet for cost estimates. If you share your missions to the cloud, I don't, the mission will show up next time you power up.

Gerry

You can create the perimeter on Google earth, as long as it's no more than 50 vertices for a polygon mission, or 99 points for a waypoint mission, and output the KML to use on the Autel.
Once in Autel, import the mission, and adjust the elevations, etc.

So, in a very crude way, I plug a large monitor into my smart controller, then a keyboard into the USB port with a mouse plugged into the back of the keyboard. It makes it easier for old eyes and fat fingers, but I still with I could generate the KML files that the app uses outside of the controller like in Google earth or something, then just uplaod them...

You should be able to import a KML file from Google Earth.

@ebianeck, it has been suggested in earlier posts that KML mission files could be uploaded. However I have not found a way to so. For my home built drones with FX4 flight controllers I can upload KML files from Mission Planner or QGroundControl. But in my EVO II Pro V3 I have not found a way to inport or export KML files.

Has someone succeeded in transferring KML files, or mission files in any other format, to the EVO II's?

I’m using a Smart Controller V3 with the EVO II Pro RTK V3, and I was able to import a KML file for waypoint, rectangular, polygon, and oblique missions—pretty easily, actually.

Here’s how I did it:
  1. I made the KML file on my computer—I used QGIS, but you could use Google Earth or any other software.
  2. Then I saved the file to a USB thumb drive and plugged it into the Smart Controller V3.
  3. Once the USB was connected, a notification popped up in the Android dropdown (Just swipe down from the top of the screen). I tapped on "Explore" and it opened up the file explorer where I could see the KML file.
  4. I just tapped the KML file, and it automatically opened in the Autel Explorer app. It asked me what kind of mission I wanted to do (Waypoint, Rectangular, Polygon, or Oblique).
  5. After picking the mission type, I adjusted the altitude and a few other settings, and it was ready to go.
Hope this helps!
