About to purchase Evo 2 V3

Good day all. I am days away from ordering this drone. I am just getting tired of the DJI restrictions when flying. I do have my license so am aware where I cannot fly. So with that rant out to the way. I primarily do photography but with my retirement in the very near future I might want to use the drone for some extra cash. I will be keeping my DJI’s but you can never have to many drones.
I do realize there are no perfect drones but are there any major issues that would keep me from acquiring this drone. I have done major searching on the internet and am aware of some issues but have read some have been rectified. So any help?

We have over 27 Autel E2 Duals/Pros (mix of V1 thru V3'S) in our fleet. Hand catching is a nightmare. Only way to really do it is be quickling flipping it over. Getting it to launch from a boat can be tough with the IMU sometimes not stabilizing enough and won't take off.

The only safety issue we have was 3 times (we have around 200 batteries) where the battery would go from full to low in maybe 10 min the critical low where you cannot stop the decent! Typically on critical low you can left stuck up and fly til the battery goes completely dead. This is very random and resulted in 2 drones crashing. I contacted Autel and they will not correct the firmware to prevent this glitch from happening. As these aircraft and batteries get older I'm sure this will become more of an issue.The 3x this happened the batteries were very low cycle count and seemed to function fine on flights afterward. There has been a firmware update so maybe thing have been resolved.

Outside of that we have had great luck with our Autels. No nightmarish geofencing. Only negative with the V3 is they dropped some of the nice slow flight stability settings to get smooth video (kinda like Cinimode ) on DJI.

Saludos lo estás comprando por el motivo adecuado realmente no tienes frustraciones a la hora de querer despegar ni por zonas Geo ni por otro tipo de limitación puedes despegar con o sin satélites y vas a poder hacerlo en el momento que lo deseas hacer tiene desventaja con respecto a la aplicación de dji es más amigable hay cosas que te permite pero tengo entendido que yo el que he volado es el Evo light y no es la misma aplicación del que tú vas a volar porque el tuyo es el modelo B3 creo que esa aplicación tiene todavía ventajas sobre la del Evo light que es la autel fly espero que lo disfrutes y como todo dron tiene limitaciones más como no es tu único dron nunca vas a poder quedarte sin poder despegar cuando tengas el compromiso con un tercero que te haya contratado.

Gimbal calibration is NOT supported on the v3 as well as there are several flight modes that are missing from the v3 vs the v2.
Autel support is at best a disappointment (that's putting it nicely). Do more reading in this forum on these issues and others.

My bad it is Obstacle Avoidance that cannot be field calibrated, must go to Autel support ($$).

In the EVO II V3 you can calibrate the gimbal under settings / gimbal / gimbal automatic calibration.



There even is a option to adjust it ''in-flight'' under settings / gimlbal / Adjust gimbal.

Further, i havn't found any negatives from the Autel Service used it twice. Both times where completed within one week, including shipment !

Never had a problem with Autel support. Sometimes it might take a few days to get back to me, but they have solved any issue I have had.

It has the original firmware that can be updated at anytime but in order to make sure I had no problem flying in New South Wales and Queensland they sent me the file for the firmware. Drone worked great without a hitch. I have the padded case, extra charger for car and the 4 battery charger. Comes with 3 batteries I bought the package last September of 2023. Has the controller which is really and improvement over the cell phone screen. Anyway let the package go for $1750 complete. Live in Colorado and generally have a lot of wind that makes flying difficult. Great aircraft however.

Remember taking off and landing within National Parks boundaries requires authorization from the National Parks Service. As I'm sure you know, just because Autel doesn't have geofencing doesn't mean it is legal to fly or take off/land within certain areas.

Yup, understand. Going to Big Bend NP and have permission with limitations. I can work with them. Now to get info on the National Monuments.

I thought Autel Pilot was Autel Robotics (the logo and even the website look similar) and bought a drone from them when they had a special going last month. Thinking I had bought from the manufacture I called the number in WA state. They could not find my invoice and informed me I bought from Autel Pilot. So If you prefer to get your support directly from the manufacture buy directly from them. I have found that I have to email Autel Pilot (Hong Kong) and wait for a response that takes 24-48 hours. I have asked some very direct questions but the responses seem second hand (like they called Autel Robotics) then responded. So I have given up contacting them (Autel Pilot). I have been trying to learn how the Intelligent Flight modes work and like many things you just have practice them under different conditions to get an understanding.

New to the forum. Have purchased a Evo2Prov3 and so far getting use to it without lots of issues. I have a Phantom 4 Obsidian Pro that is a great drone and features. Finding the E2Pv3 appears to be a step up. Only a learning curve is in play at the moment. I feel E2Pv3 will be a great asset to my drone business going forward. So, like with other products in life, maybe just make changes slowly and conform where can.
