I will admit, I'm not entirely convinced that the Smart Controller was the reason for the distance. A better test IMO would be to fly in a congested area and test the exact same route with the SC vs the standard controller. The standard controller paired with the EVO II 6K has travelled 5 miles over open ocean at 100' AGL in my tests. The only reason I had to turn around at the 5 mile mark was because the battery was at 60% remaining.

Better control when the airwaves are congested would be a more interesting test to me especially since I typically shoot events where the airwaves are very congested with WiFi and cell phone signals.
