Smart Controller latency when screen casting?

I was just watching this video from Airworx and the owner mentions that there's a known problem with the Smart Controllers (especially v2) having latency and maybe other connectivity issues when screen casting. He says he believes it's a hardware issue, not firmware.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone here have dozens or hundreds of hours of screen casting use with their SC that hasn't had any issues?
