Smart controller extended display

Has anyone discovered a way to link the smart controller to an iPad as an extended display? We are trying to find a way that others can view the camera view live without having to look over the pilots shoulder the entire time. We are currently using a computer monitor just hooked to the hdmi output on the smart controller. While this works, there is one issue that we have to always have the monitor plugged into the power source. I currently have an iPad Pro with a usb-c port on it. Hooking that directly to the controller does not work. Using an hdmi with a usb-c adapter does not work either. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated

Good morning! Although I'm no expert with Apple products, I believe the posts in the following link from Apple may answer your question. I think you can only connect it through HDMI ports.
