Don’t think I’d try this installation. Maybe they could sell ready fitted controllers to those of us who would be nervous about doing it. That shot of the controller being twisted open put me right off.
That’s a really good point I discovered after flying with one on an XSP. Yes, range was increased in ideal conditions as long as you are facing the drone precisely. I’ve switched RC’s b/c the left stick broke inside the RC. I thought I’d noticed a dramatic difference and be compelled to tear it apart and fix it immediately. I haven’t. My spare RC’s range is reduced somewhat, but I’ve noticed greater flexibility in my positioning, AND, I can move the rabbit ears to partially compensate... If I had to do it again, I’m not sure I would — but the XSP install is really a *itch. If it was easier, maybe...
