First off. I am blind in my right eye. Not asking for sympathy just establishing my vision issue. Because of this I have a problem with certain colors at certain distances. When I ordered my Nano+ I ordered it in Orange because that is a color I can see really well at a distance.

I flew it for a couple weeks and it was perfect. I could see it very well. Then things went south. The gimbal quit on me and after some back and forth emails with Autel it was determined that it was a faulty gimbal. They had me open up a ticket and send it to them for repair at their cost, They determined there were other things wrong with it as well. Rather than fix it, they sent me my old one back plus a grey one as they said they had no more orange and was discontinuing that color. The grey one flies flawlessly HOWEVER I can't see it very well due to the color. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it more visible to me without doing anything drastic? I was looking into skins but they only seem to make them for other brands and not Autel.

You could replace the shell relatively cheaply. CLICK HERE
You can Google to see if there are wraps for the Nano +
I think I would avoid trying to paint it.

Thats an idea and I have bought from alipress before will good results. Only thing is that I would need the whole body and the arms done. But I will keep that link in the event I need it. Yeah. I did google wraps. As usual, everything is for the DJI's

Thanks!

But a warning: The bottom plate is aluminium and you will brake it easy!
Also the rear sensors are glued into the ALU housing, it will be a very delicate operation to get them out undamaged.

Yeah. Thats why I don't want to do that. I would prefer to just skin.

"Authorities" will say if you can no longer see it, then your too far away, so fly closer.
A cheap Strobe might work for you, though it will most likely draw attention and annoy the Karens out there.
I purchased these and am pretty happy with their performance. Installed , they will of course exceed the Nano 250g limit. I feel the safety provided warrants their use at times, but doesnt exclude you from "their laws".
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out!

If I did that then I might as well just fly a toy drone. I cant see it more than 100 feet up and 100 feet away.

Please don't use my friend's name like that. She and the other people I know actually named Karen are sick of it. Like I tell people "How would you like it if they used your name in the same context"

That's unfortunate. However, to fly legally, you must be able to see your drone. I agree with adding a strobe to assist you. Nonetheless, if not then your limit of flight is as you said, 100'

These are the cheapest strobes and the lightest ones. They weigh about 6gm. They certainly meet FAA specs. As far as the strobes making you overweight there is a real simple solution for that. Simply register your Nano+ as recreational. Because it has RID now if registered you will not be in violation if you go over 249gm. These strobes are red, green, or white and have two strobe speeds and a always on mode. One at either end using different colors will help keep you oriented. They also make a four color version. https://www.amazon.com/VIFLY-Strobe-Collision-Phantom-Inspire/dp/B096VCKR97?th=1

The simple solution is to buy a couple strobes. ViFly are fully FAA compliant and have 6 cree LEDs. They weigh a little over 6gms. each. All you have to do is register your nano+ as recreational and because it has RID now you will still be legal if it weighs over 249gm. You can mount one on either end and use different colors to help keep it oriented. They work in the daytime. I wouldn't worry about them bothering neighbors. Just fly above 200'-250- they won't know you're there. https://www.amazon.com/VIFLY-Strobe-Collision-Phantom-Inspire/dp/B096VCKR97?th=1
