Latest Firmware Update & Explorer App Update

So, after filing claim with my Credit Card company and the BBB, I was able to return the V3 RTK and get both my money back and the original warranty E2PV2 and controler after my loss in April.

The drone just came. Not sure if it is a refurb because it was not packaged as one. They did send me a new regular controller.

I started the controller and I can see that it doesn't have the latest firmware update... It ends in 21 rather than 22.

My question is whether or not I should update the controller firmware and Explorer App? Has anyone NOT had a problem with them?

I am hoping this drone works but nothing would surprise me. I am going to use the refund to purchase a DJI, probably the M3P.

I updated my Evo Pro v2 and installed toe new version of the Explorer app and have had no difficulties
