BIG EDIT, WHILE IT DOESNT LAG, THE CONTROLLER NOW DOES, AND THIS MIRRORS WHAT THE CONTROLLER IS DOING. I SUSPECT OVER CLOCKING MAY SOLVE THIS
ANOTHER EDIT: i have gotten rid of this lag by enabling dev mode, so i could enable gpu rendering. now its just as smooth with and without the usb a to hidmi out dongle. much success
the controller runs and open version of android, even has chrome installed so you can go find apks, download and install them
i read about something called "display link", that works with android through an app that sets up a mirrored display on the hdmi port of the display port dongle.
first i tested to see if this controller supports otg, and it does.
then i installed the display link app, and i installed it and seems to function, at least no errors as of yet
then i went shopping for a display link dongle dock thing. i saw that most of these things were huge, required external power. how ever i found a small dongle style unit that is usb a for the input, and its powered by the usb port.
i also bought a bigger display port dock for like $160 but i didnt even open this one, it was plan b
i got them today and the smaller one worked.
there is the tiniest bit of lag, like 1/20th of a second, so little most wont even notice
then i tried my ar glasses, and they worked too, but they are usb c input, so i had to adapt that hdmi out to usb c, and that adapter requires 5v, but i have that figured out.
i will likley put velco on the back of the controller to hold this stuff in place, not blocking the air vents.
why did i do this? i want the video to go to my tv or my ar glasses
autel said they could sell me the bigger smart controller with hdmi out and that they would program it to work with my evo lite 640t but that controller is about $1200.
sure i could cast from my existing controller, but that lagged bag, so bad it was almost unusable and i swear it hurts the range.
also the ar glasses work better out in the sun than looking at the display directly, plus the ar glasses puts up a 120 inch display in your face and you catch details that you might have missed on the much smaller controller, but its more comfortable not being hunched over the controller
down side is that it chews through the controller battery even faster, but i have extra batteries and a way to field charge them
the display link adapter was only $40 lol
