Good Afternoon, I have been flying RC planes, Helis, FPV, and drones for approx. 12 years. I retired several years ago and decided to try my shot at starting a small business combining my passion for RC.
I started my business just 9 months ago to provide thermal services utilizing a Evo Max 4T. I decided to branch out to video and photogrammetry since I have been getting more requests in those services. I recently purchased an Air 3s to get started with those services since it should be a better and cheaper platform for that.
I have not done much with the business so far since its been a lot of training myself and courses to learn about photogrammetry and the deliverables I want to provide.
Its been expensive and a little stressful but a lot of fun and Im looking forward to meeting others here and learning as much as I can from the community. Im not a pro in anything but will be more than happy to help anyone if I can.
I look forward to interacting with others here and getting to know more people in the hobby as well as other small business owners grinding to create something great.

Im use to RCgroups where you access multiple forums in one account so Im Still getting use to the sites here, creating multiple accounts to access multiple forums but Im learning so this will probably C and P a couple of times.

Thank you sir, Im looking forward to all the knowledge here.
The Autel chatroom isn’t very active. The Mavic pilots chatroom that I see you also joined is very active with some of the most knowledgeable drone pilots from around the world. Any questions or help you need you’ll find it there fast.

I just received my MAX 4T today. I have used DJI Mavic 2 Pro in the past and I also have an Autel Evo 2 Pro V3. I acquired the 4T to eventually learn to use all of its capabilities and start a side business hopefully servicing for thermal inspection needs and mapping. A LOT to learn. Planning on offering free to near free thermo and mapping flights to gain understanding and needs of varying markets while gaining knowledge and experience. Hoping in 4-6 months to at least be good with thermal and using the IRPC Tool to offer that service. Praying I made the right decision to go with Max 4T instead of a DJI Enterprise drone......I cannot stand the flight restriction battle with DJI.

Welcome, I really like my Max 4Ts so far. I havnt had to rely on Autel customer service yet so that is still up in the air. There are several reasons I chose the 4T over the 30T including the geo fencing but I believe more commercial pilots will probably choose dji now that they have lifted there geo fencing.

I didn't know they lifted the no fly restrictions on the aircraft. In the US?

The M30T would be the closest competitor to the Max 4T and it is an amazing drone. Im still happy with the 4T due to its smaller size while still flying well in wind and rain. I also wanted hot swappable batteries which I got without needing 2 batteries per flight which saved me money. I also liked the fact that the Max 4T had swappable payloads. I heard Autel was possibly coming out with more payload options for the 4T but Im not sure if or when that may happen.

Have you tried to run data through IRPC Tool or Thermal SDK tool yet? I am worried after all of the negativity I am reading about Autel's issues with these things.

I have played with the Autels IRPC tool for a few minutes but did not get in depth with it. I have not tried any thermal deliverables yet. I have been using it to learn mapping and modeling and so far I havnt had any issues with the data collected there. I am using open source software to stitch the maps so far so I dont know how it would do in drone deploy or Pix4D. I will play more with the thermal deliverables and get back to you.

Excellent and thank you. I just received the 4T today.....I like everything about the specs and the research I did, but waiting a week for delivery and reading more forums has me second guessing the 4T. The only reason I went with it over a Matrice was the lack of flight restrictions. Low and behold I did not know that DJI was lifting them. Shows how much I have kept up with the drone news.

If you just received it today you may be able to return it and buy a DJI.

My 4T has worked well for pet recovery and the rancher clients I have when finding lost cows. If Autel keeps supporting the 4T and comes out with usable camera payloads as well as address the issues people may have with deliverables I will continue to be happy with my purchase. But, like you I have read a lot of bad reviews of Autel and how they have been handling issues or lack of handling issues and I only hope that they keep getting better and deliver what they promise.
My 4T has worked well for my needs so far. I will keep you posted on my experience with different deliverables and if I have any issues if you decide to keep it.
If you think trading it for the 30T might give you more piece of mind then that is an option. The 30T is an excellent drone and is tried and true at this point.

Thank you for that. I couldn’t help but fly it when I got home since I had it in my possession. Therefore I am all in on it now and going forward with learning everything possible about all of the data I can get from it, how to process it and deliver to a client. Here goes several months of learning. I enjoy talking with you all on this forum. I look forward to maybe making some good contacts to work with and maybe I can be of help the more I delve into the possibilities. 🍻
