What's going on here? Are those gimbals pointing above the horizontal and further behind than vertical?

Yes. Full range is more than you can move it with the gimbal tilt from the controller. Otherwise, it could not provide a stable image at 90 and 0 degrees.

If you do the follow me, set your drone on a flat surface and just draw a box on something to the far right or left, the camera will turn in that direction. If you notice the boot up, the camera does a lot. If you do auto gimbal calibration, I think it goes to 130 degrees.
