Battery Question

I got a 10% low battery warning after flying for 5 minutes at full throttle. I hit return to home and when it got to about 8 feet paused the return to home and let it hover in place. My app showed I still had 17 minutes flying time. so I flew and recorded for 11 more minutes flying close so if it went down I could find it. I ran the battery down to 6 minutes and landed. No more warnings. Could the battery warning have been caused by running it at full throttle for 5 minutes? This is the first time I have had a low battery warning.

Rhyleh,
Your battery can certainly be drained down quicker when you are flying 'full-throttle', and especially when it is climbing. You might take it for a more 'relaxing' flight and see how it does. If the battery life is still low, then you may need a new battery.

Not fully understanding how a "smart battery" thinks, I can't offer a direct explanation. I've encountered BBB (bad battery behavior) in the past. My first course of action was to capture data on the battery and sent it to CS (via screen capture). They suggested a course of action and to resend the subsequent test data. As it turned out, the battery had gone bad and they replaced it.
That being said, their course of action included performing a deep cycle discharge, recharge and fly again (close by and carefully) bringing the battery level to below 10% at low altitude. I had to fight my pumpkin to prevent it from landing - I hadn't realized how stubborn it could be.
