What happens when I press and hold the battery button? Hold over 5 seconds.

All 4 LEDs are flashing and remain so. It lights up all the time, continuously, until the button is pressed again briefly.

Is there any special (hidden) function of this button?

This question came up, when I put in a new suitcase.
I just wonder, if pressing the top cover will not press the buttons on the battery, and do something unnecessary

Normally :
A short press turns on the leds to indicate the load (1-2-3 or 4 leds)
A long press activates the battery (the LEDs remain on and current flows from the pins).
Another long press cuts the battery and puts it out of service.

For charging, the battery must be cut, it is the charger that will wake up the battery.
But if you want to top-up, for example the first three lights on and the fourth flashing, the charger may not start charging because it thinks the battery is full.
In this case, with a long press, you put the battery in exercise and then you plug in the charger, the charge will then begin to finish filling the battery.

.........

For the suitcase, yes, he can. I had the case on the Evo 1 in the bag.
If a tip of foam presses the button, it can do so.
Put a piece of tape upside down on the battery buttons, then close the suitcase and open it again, if a tape is stuck on a piece of foam, you cut this tip.

Many thanks.
