automatic update of the app ?

I have a question about a new update.
At the moment I use the app version V.1.3.25.
I keep reading that there is already a version 1.4.xx.

My question: Does the update come by itself on my smartphone, I get a message that a new version is ready or do I have to pick up this new version myself at Autel.

So far I have not received any messages from my app.

And sine the versions 1.4.xx recommendable, or should one rather still use the 1.3.25 ?

When you start the App it should tell you that there is an update.
Try powering down the phone, powering it back up, and then starting the App. Give it a couple of minutes.
You will need to connect the Remote and Aircraft.
The latest App version is 1.4.32 and the latest Aircraft Firmware version is 1.6.5

I saw on the forum that there was an update but had to manually update my app via the Play Store. Maybe my phone does auto updates overnight or something? I've been prompted as @ccadden describes in the past.
