I absolutely agree. The S2 is awesome as a Follower Drone but as you said after that it declines compared to others like the Evo 2 or M2P. If they could get the Evo to have S2's OA it would be amazing!Great video...actually I was impressed with the EVO2's tracking & avoidance. If compared to other than the Skydio, it's very good. The Skydio's distance from subject seems to be a common complaint, and the EVO2 I thought did a better or similar job when closer to subject. It may not handle all the oddities: Sm Branches, tight confusing areas, etc. But if it can go down trail, avoid the common encountered items: low trees, wire/cables, signs, bridge overhead frames, etc. then it's obtaining a very good practical usage of avoidance. If it does this while remaining closer to subject than the S2, then it beats the S2 in some regards... until FW updates improve the S2 for close subjects.
For a Drone with good handheld RC, strong RF range, good full featured app and it provides nice object avoidance; in comparison to the S2 in many ways will clearly beat it. The S2 remains king in avoidance but after that it declines.

The S2 is definitely a Follower Drone vs a drone you would control yourself, even thought you can get a controller. If your using a drone for work or enjoyment the Evo 2 is definitely the better choice. I personally haven't used the S2 and while it's OA is incredible it's not something I would spend the money on. I'm placing my order for a Pro 6k today.I'd agree with that @Agustine , I picked up an S2 and personally not impressed with it "yet"... but I've had very minimal flying time with it. By the time I get home, it's "dusk" and the S2 is soon to resistant to fly due to low light. That to me is a bit disappointing, something I didn't consider important that I do now. It's not just darkness, it's low light.. even when the camera is still producing a quality low light image. The other part is the RC control of the S2... that's fussy to connect and it's not a primary flight mode for the S2 and I feel gets minimal development attention. I do like the S2 design, size and technology... I'm hopeful a few more FW versions it'll be more useable for my purposes. The EVO2 "looks" to have a superior OA compared to M2P or other platforms, and that is 1 "plus" for the EVO2, night or low light is a 2nd "plus".
