Fly both Evo 2 and RC planes. Recently, purchased an RC 1600mm P-38L Lightning in kit form. Pretty much assembled just need an additional 3-4 hours to put together. Three weeks ago, pilot error crashed it on take off. Almost cleared the end of runway, unfortunately slammed into a pole. My fault, not enough elevator programmed into my low rate setting.
Last week, took on the reassembly task and after three days on and off had her put back together. She flies great, already have four flights on her Since the rebuilt. Here are a few pictures, pictured right after the crash with the next picture showing the wood filler after gluing all the pieces together. Then, sanded down and repainted.
All original, no replacement parts all broken pieces carefully glued back together. She’s true and balanced, all three fuselages are perfectly straight. Local RC friends watched it take to the skies last weekend, like myself everyone had a smile ear to ear as she took to the skies with no hint of ever being in a crash.
Love the hobby, RC flying and Evo 2 flights are hard to beat.
