African airline reports drone collision with passenger jet

An African airline reported Friday that one of its planes collided with a drone while approaching the airport in Tete, Mozambique.
Linhas Aereas de Mozambique (LAM) said on its Facebook page that the Boeing 737-700 was approaching Tete from Maputo on Thursday about 5:15 p.m. local time with 86 people aboard when the incident happened. The plane landed safely without any injuries. [read more at source linked below]

Hi LuvMyTJ, I also found out the drone that hit this place was a mining company drone weighing ten kg.
It was also reported that this mining company regularly violates air space close to the airport.
So I hope the authorities there go after this mining company.

Hi LuvMyTJ, thank you for advising I read the update. Amazing how everyone including pilots jump to conclusion that it was a drone and not waiting for the facts.
Anyway the drone reputation for NOT having hit an airliner to date is in tact.
