Answered my own question, I "read the manual". It seems you "tap" on the waypoint you want to change, not push, poke, mash, just tap, then you can drag it to any location. There is a differences in the 2 "waypoint " features. In one the altitude is preset to 93-2624ft, in the other its anything.
