I just wanted to clarify something. When a preorder is placed with a reseller the preorder money does not go to the manufacturer or distributor until the product ships. Manufacturers and distributors do not invoice the resellers until products ship. Even in this crazy time of long backorders...

If you’ve been dealing with commercial/professional electronics, all manufacturers suggest AVOIDING OTA or wireless updates to any firmware when possible. It’s more stable as it eliminates the possibility of packet loss due to wireless interference. Updating via the SD card is the way to go.

That is all good! My suggestion would be to go to everyone in the neighborhood and leave a letter in their mailbox informing them of your intentions and receiving their blessing. It would be much better to have cooperation with your neighbors preventing any future issues.

I’m sure your intentions are good and if you did deter a bad guy from committing a crime, that’s awesome. Chances are it was in novice mode which limits the speed. We were running an operation with 2 EVO II’s and one pilot had the same issue with a brand new EVO II Pro. It turned out he was in novice mode as that’s the default out of the box.
