What is the maximum discharge current for the EVO 1 and EVO 2? I’m working with a company to supply new cells for us to rebuild our failing battery packs. This is a question they are asking me.

Have you made any headway, GLEvideo? Or is the FIMI battery still the best "natural" cell source?

I have not responded back to the company with the answer to their question. They are asking me what the maximum discharge current is for the battery pack. I don’t know what to tell them and I’ve asked this question here on this forum in several of the threads concerning batteries but I get no answers. It appears no one is interested in keeping their EVO flying. How about you. Still interested? I’m still flying mine. I’m still flying on my battery packs that were “damaged” couple years ago. I’ve leaned how to get past the “damaged battery” warning and continue to fly but I know the battery will need to be rebuilt soon.

My drone hasn't even arrived yet. Just bought a used one of this model and getting set for it. I'll be interested in several sets of cells. I read your cure for the fault and i is a promising action to buy some time. But the years are passing, and repairing perfectly useful drones beats buying new ones that the manufacturer will declare obsolete quickly.

Hey, GLEVideo, I would be very interested in knowing how to get past the "Damaged Battery" alert; I still fly mine frequently, and am currently trying to "recondition them" by cycling them through the drone (just sitting still, with props removed) and draining them to full drone shutoff before charging them again. I've run each of 6 batteries (only 2 actually reading as "damaged") through this process about 3-4 times each so far, and it's looking promising. The cells appear to be balancing somewhat better with each iteration. And I would DEFINITELY be interested if you end up figuring out a cell-replacement option. If you can give me an idea how to get a measurement of the maximum discharge current, I'm happy to provide one to you; I fly my EVO regularly, and still have at least one battery that behaves pretty normally.

Sometimes when I fly with a previously damaged battery I can still take off and begin a flight and then about 5 minutes into the flight I will get the Damaged Battery warning and then the screen says "returning home". When that happens I have figured out that by giving the controller a lot of input by moving both sticks all around for a few seconds seems to clear the warning and I can then fly for another 15 minutes or so without incident. I know the battery will eventually give out because it is old and has been compromised some with an out of balance issue. I have not gone back to the battery manufacturer because I don't have an answer to their question about the maximum discharge current of the battery. I may search for their email address and write them once again just to tell them what the battery is used for and give them the make and model of the aircraft and they may even be familiar with it. I'll give that a try and see if I get a response. I'd like to be able to rebuild these battery packs especially now since they are no longer available. The drone is still good and I enjoy flying it and would like to keep it alive for as long as I can. I know there a newer drones on the market but frankly I don't see that they are that much better. I recently purchased a Potensic ATOM and find that it performs quite well. I'm impressed that it is so small and light weight and does so much. But on a windy day I don't dare fly it. It is so light that it would just blow away with the wind. That's where the EVO works so well. It's heavy and can cut through so much more wind than the little ATOM.
