One costly lesson in flying too close to trees

I flew too close to some trees and the proximity alarms sounded. I meant to go backwards when I proceeded forwards instead. It was a true bone-headed error.

The EVO hit some branches and started to tumble, about 15 feet to the ground. The last branch must have slowed it down considerably because when it finally hit the ground, there was no propeller damage nor any damage to the other flight-crucial systems. The branch did snag the camera unit, unfortunately, and ripped it clean out, fraying the cable in the process.

I'm sharing this in case others wonder what sort of repair is involved.
Kudos to Autel for fixing this and shipping it back within 10 days.

Yup. I did a similar bonehead move when my EVO 1 was new. Flew under Oak trees that had Spanish Moss hanging from them. The EVO 1 sensors didn't notice the moss either. It caught the moss, flipped and hit the ground. Camera and gimbal had to be replaced.
