Iphone X screen dims

Does anyone use an Iphone X with the controller? After several minutes mine starts dimming and until I unplug it from the controller, it does not resume the original brightness?

Here's how to turn auto-brightness on or off.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Go to General.
3. Scroll down to Accessibility.
4. Scroll to Display Accommodations.
5. Toggle the switch for auto-brightness.
