I would say Evo has a strong enough connection that you wouldn't ever have to modify its controller, unlike the XSP.

Don't put the XSP down I have gone over 1.5 miles and could have gone further if I had not decided to turn around. Many have gone over 3 miles with the stock antennas with the XSP. It all comes down to where you are at the time. Most times it comes down to how much battery you have left. I know of a guy who used to fly out his bedroom window with his XSP with those really bright LED's and go way over 3 miles till it turned around for low battery

The xsp is still amazing, I loved it before I sold it. I was just saying the Evo has a much stronger signal so you shouldn't ever need to modify its controller.
