If you buy a controller separate from the drone, be very careful. Descriptions of the EVO II controller being the same as the Evo controller are not exactly correct. Same hardware but different firmware/software. An Evo controller cannot be used to fly the Evo II drone. No compatibility. Autel should stop telling everyone that the controllers are the same. I called their support line, and they stick with the statement "...because the hardware is the same". If Dell sold two identical computers, but one had Windows 2020 and the other one had Windows XP, would anyone describe them as the same computer? Hell no.

You are correct. However you can buy an Evo II controller and pair it to the Evo 1.
