That's why someone like myself only considered the Evo. First drone purchase -- and why I did not go with "what everyone else has".

I'm sure an update will kill this -- but until then -- no waiting on anyone to drag their butt just to authorize my drone.

The US fails to forget -- when you purchase something -- you purchase it.

I do not understand what is up with this mentality that you purchase something -- only to be told you aren't good enough to enjoy it -- by persons that have no business -- in your business. lol

What I find interesting is that this is coming from Drone U where DJI is adored.
Maybe an indication that the move away from DJI is really happening.

Paul is respected industry wide. I always watch his weekly videos. If he is frustrated with DJI, and likes the Evo this much then I figure we choose the right quadcopter!

This is one of the big reasons I didn't and won't consider a dji, and did go with Autel.

I've never liked the idea of a "partnership ownership" where I buy a drone and possess it, but dji tells me when, where, and how I can fly it.

No thanks.

...so elegantly written... and this is the reason why no one is really selling them -- or why no one is running into a fellow drones as you zoom/zip around...

I do not even read much about the competition -- but can't these things be "jail broken?" I'm sure they can be.

I'm amazed people can't put their heads together and put their birds in the wind!

Yes, you can remove the Geofencing from DJI drones. Not factory default and I don't want to get caught in an accident with a modified drone, but yeah.

As for meeting other drone enthusiasts, come join me for these events.FB_IMG_1554467701951.jpgFB_IMG_1554467683816.jpg

Yes, as Ansia wrote above, you can easily get rid of DJI's restrictions. With the right software. I now own several DJI craft, along with my favorite, the EVO. The camera and less restrictions are second to none. DJI makes great drones, and now, so does Autel. DJI has come out with a new NFZ scheme that has grounded countless owners. There is nothing wrong with bypassing DJI's NFZ scheme, or even altitude restrictions placed on any drone. None of this nonsense is required by law. We as pilots are responsible, not the drones software restrictions.

*edit*
I just watched the whole video. Man...I can see the frustration with having to fly with all of DJI's crap. It's been a while since all my DJI craft were locked. That just sucks.
