Can you do the same settings or change settings on the controller as you can with a phone or tablet connected or does the phone or tablet offer you more choices.

Most of the settings are accessible without a phone except white balance. I have not found it without the app.

That's only one of many! No flight logs can be recorded without a tablet, and there is no way to determine the direction of the aircraft from the controller without a tablet, if you have lost visual sight of the aircraft. Also, no digital zoom selection is possible without a tablet, which is simply a controller programming choice, and could easily be fixed. No map view without a tablet either. If you lose your EVO, you'll have no way to find it, as there will be no way to know where it was last "seen" on a map! Use a phone, if any of the above matter to you!
