The Evo map has some problems that are not present in the same areas of the M3E map.
I noticed issues like this freqently when processing Evo images with WebODM.
Thanks for the comment. I did go through the process you mentioned extensively with Correlator3d and Pix4d. Below is a site I set up- over 20 total points within a 40 acre site, used in various combinations for GCPs and CPs with flights at various altitudes.
Not my area of expertise, but I suspect you wouldn't notice a major difference between the two. The larger screen on the Evo Smart Controller might be a benefit.
Throughout the year I questioned the Evo, and did informal comparisons between the Evo and other Pixhawk/Reach powered systems. It is certainly possible that there was an issue with my particular airframe/camera. I struggled a lot to get accurate results in Correlator3d and WebODM also. At...
Earlier this fall I rented a Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK to compare it to my Autel Evo II Enterprise with RTK.
The project was gathering topography for a roughly 85 acre agricultural site.
A registered land surveyor provided six ground control point, captured with a total station.
My base...
I am. Donated my Evo II Enterprise to the Ukrainian effort.
Still planning to share the results of my side to side mapping test of the Evo 2 vs Mavic 3.
Never caught what program you were using for post processing.
If your contract is just for Data Collection, can't you just hand then the LAS file? That's an easy output from Pix4d/Metashape/Webodm.
Agree with @jahalnon , but wanted to add that there may be some confusion caused by the orthophoto format exported by Pix4d. For Autodesk products to read it, sometimes it needs to be resaved without the 'bigtiff' format. QGIS can take care of this (using LZW compression is a good balance of...
Looks like you're sorting through what is needed, and great input from others above.
I'll add that contour creation in Pix4d is outstanding. I suspect this is what your client actually wants/needs- and Pix4d creates DXF contours from the DSM or DTM. I've tried many different QGIS plugins...
"Hello. I need to buy a drone with RTK and PPK. I would like your opinion on the advantages or disadvantages of Autel RTK over DJI Mavic 3 RTK or P4P RTK. I need to understand the benefits of the models and better analyze the cost-benefit."
I recently rented a M3E with RTK and flew the same...
One of the easiest ways is to just download/open the kml. In my case, from Dropbox. Then Autel is an option to open the kml, and it goes right into mission planning. The Smart Controller does have a file explorer program on it as well.
