I have put mavic props on my evo and ruled them out. Very little difference in sound and slightly less flight time.

Have you turned the distance limit off in the flight control tab?

Is this a beta version? I only have "rectangular" under "mission" and "waypoint" is still under the intelligent flight tab. I see your edit... too bad that waypoint isn't improved. I hope the folks using the SDK are able to implement a better planner as Agustine mentioned above.

Although I'm generally happy with my EVO the mission planner has been a big disappointment. No spline corners (smooth), no circle, no gradual altitude change, no camera trigger, no region of interest (camera direction) etc. Even new the mapping grid is crippled because you can only do rectangles...

In the DSLR world it is known that raw pictures are a little soft and need sharpening. JPGs are sharpened in camera which may be too much or too little. The same is true for the EVO. I always use JPG + raw. Sometimes the JPG is good enough and if I need better quality and more latitude I have...

I have no issues with the battery removal and the back buttons were a pain until I bought button protectors. I've posted in other threads that Misson planner is very basic and rarely much use to me. Sadly, if they haven't improved it by now, I'm not sure that they will. Hopefully a developer...

That's another "I wish" thing. I asked Alejandro (autel) about a dynamic return to home because it's important for flying from a moving platform. He said that they couldn't do it because there is no gps in the controller. When I suggested that there is because the phone has one I got crickets.

That's great that it works for you. I do mainly real estate work so flying a grid pattern is no use to me. Mission Maker lets me program any route and do any number of actions at each waypoint including poi, altitude etc. My old drones are huge so I don't use them anymore so hopefully autel will...

Pull the menu down in the upper left and select "edit". You can choose to draw with your finger or select individual waypoints and each waypoint is programmable.

I have used Mission Maker (used to be Tower) which is a great mission app. Download it from the play store and try it to see how it works. Message the developer and ask them to port it to the EVO. The more who request it, the more likely that they will do it.

Haven't flown and Anafi but that makes a lot of sense.

Thank you Augustine. I did send an email to Autel. My post was poorly worded and more intended to let people here know that there may be an issue. Although your comment about boat mode vs hand launch is true, the youtube videos and general understanding is that it is the solution to hand...

I am used to the mission planner in arducopter where I can plan a very detailed and robust mission (not mapping which I would use very infrequently) in the office and then take it to the field and fly it. It saves time and can perform complex tasks not possible in the EVO.

I'm pretty sure that you have a bug/glitch in the boat mode. This video was posted on Facebook and I just tested my Evo and have exactly the same problem. This makes boat mode unusable so I hope you can push an update through quickly.
