I agree that the example I sent wasn't similar to your issue. I will say that I've seen, from sitting in an airplane, what you're showing. A more proper term for this is retro reflectivity. In any case, I hope you'll share your results, and I hope you find a solution!

In the one photo you show, the spot on the ground is the sun reflecting on the planet. Similar to what you'd see from an airplane window.

I've used 'lens filter wrenches' with success. The problem is usually that, when pressing the filter with your fingers, is that that makes the filter off-round. Filter wrenches apply equal pressure around the entire filter.

My first mapping test flight I did orbit and didn't stop. The pix came out slightly soft because my exposure time was too slow. Lesson learned - depending on how far of a radius, I go 1/125 minimum. I've done the grid flight pattern w diagonal finishes. So far it has depended on the location.
