    Taking photos of the Eclipse

I agree, why would you use a drone when you can do it with a regular camera? The only reason I could think of would be if you wanted to include the eclipse in scenic panorama.

Recommendations on Remote ID module for Evo Pro 2

The most popular model is the Dronetag MIni. It cost about $300. I bought mine last Summer from Vertigo Drones. I heard that there are a lot of backorders because of people procrastinating and the FAA extended the deadline by 6 months. Get it done ASAP.

RID (Remote ID) add-on module in Europe for older aircraft (EVO 1 and EVO 2 V1 or V2)

You can attach a third party RID to any drone as long as you register the RID with the FAA. You can also use one RID amongst multiple drones.

Remote ID Update Regarding Autel Drones: Any Forthcoming?

Yes, you register the Dronetag, but in is registered under the aircrafts you want to be compliant. You go to the drone registration and check the aux. RID box and then the Dronetag ID#..

Remote ID Update Regarding Autel Drones: Any Forthcoming?

Some Autel products are RID ready and some aren't. If you have a non-compliant unit, buy a Dronetag and register it under your non-compliant aircraft.

Dronetag Beacon Ongoing Observations and Discussions

I recently had a little accident and backed my Autel EVO with Dronetag mounted into a limb and it fell about 15-20 feet. The Dronetag and battery came off the drone. Even though the Velcro is pretty secure, it can come apart in an accident. I was thinking about augmenting the RID with...

    Alternate To Evo

Sometimes people sell used parts or "for parts only" on EBay.

Anyone know how to actually reach Autel?

Check Vertigo Drones at VertigoDrones.com . They sell and repair drones. They used to be primarily a Yuneec dealer and service center, but they now sell Autel and DJI. Last time I looked, they also sold Yuneec parts.

    Alternate To Evo

You can sometimes find used drone parts on eBay or at companies that do drone repairs like Vertigo Drones.

    RID again

When I was doing research about RID a couples of months ago and ordered an RID for my EVO 1, I read that all "LITE" Autels were RID compliant. Then I believe I read that Autel was negotiating and waiting for approval from the FAA on some other models.

    RID response from Autel:

The new Autel "Lite" drones are supposed to have RID, or you can buy an RID attachment for your drone. I just purchased an RID Mini.

    RID again

From what I read, the new Autel drones who's names end in "Lite" are RID ready.

Dronetag Beacon Ongoing Observations and Discussions

Last week I received my Dronetag Mini after being on back order for several weeks. So far I attached it to the top of my EVO and did all the registrations and so on. Soon as the weather gets better I will taking it out for a test flight.
