Suggestions for mapping a large area?

I’ve done about half that, and have processed the area in batches and then combined at the end. It’s certainly doable, although it was not quick.

<<<< SOLD>>>> Almost new Autel EVO Nano Plus + Premium Bundle - $500.00 (OBO) + Shipping

The rain lately put a dampener on it for me 😂 Let me see if I can swing that. I’m just north of you a bit. Assuming a weekday meet up would be fine around your zip?

    Smart Controller question....

I disagree, I've found the V1 Smartcontroller to be very pleasant, primarily because of the better sticks more than anything else. The standard controller, while it is nice with the screen and such, never struck me as "high quality" in feel. Especially when doing any precise movements. The...

    Mapping software choices.

Maps Made Easy is a pretty good service, I've used them for a decent number of maps now. WebODM/ODM is also pretty great, although, you need to get your hands dirtier with that for sure. Also, Metashape by Agisoft is within reach, as long as you don't go for the Pro version. Out of all of...

Interview with John "Drone Jesus" McBride from Autel

It’ll be more than a few years till the tech is mature enough, that it won’t be an arms race with drones and they’ll continue to be disposable.

No missions for nano and lite

The Anafi is such a neat little bird. I picked one up on some Best Buy Christmas sale, and it’s really become my second favorite drone. I think you’ll really enjoy the Autel.

The saga of the Autel Enterprise continues

I wonder if that’s a V2 issue or just an odd bug RE: can’t charge while flying. I could have sworn I’ve heard of others using a battery bank to charge while flying with the SC.

Beware Buyers - Autel’s End of Life (EOL) Product Realities

As someone who has/had Parrot, 3DR, Yuneec and DJI drones, I encourage you folks to not just hyper focus on DJI and remember this has been a fast paced and brutal rush to a new market for new products.

Evo 3 coming in 2022 (maybe). What will this mean for the Evo 2?

Fascinating, I didn't realize the new radio chips didn't allow the dual accessory/controller. But yes, I think you're right regarding where things are heading. I'd expect the EVO III to move more upmarket/professional with the introduction of the Lite and Nano series. I think they could...

    Why no comments?

I've never found the EVO II loud, especially with the newer props, but it's certainly loud compared to the Mini's with the MA props, or the Anafi with the stock props. Plus, that Home Depot orange just screams "look at me." The nice thing I've found, is that people tend to actually be more...

Evo 3 coming in 2022 (maybe). What will this mean for the Evo 2?

FIMI drones I think have been using the same batteries for awhile. In fact, I believe their "flagship" drone has kept the same chassis now for 3 generations, with just internal (and camera) updates. Never flown one mind you, but I find them interesting.

    Why no comments?

Yeah, that's the primary reason I'm looking at the Nano+ too. Currently I have an Anafi for times I need to be quiet and not attract a lot of attention, but as much as I love that little drone, the camera is really only usable for seeing things, and not so much photography or videography.

    Battery mod

This makes me a bit curious if the EVO II Pro Enterprise drones are getting any better flight time vs a EVO II Pro drone. I know the Enterprise ones have switched to carbon fiber legs, and different motors, to help with the additional weight that they're "designed" to carry. Just wondering if...
