What Parts of the EVO 2 are the same as in the original EVO? (Remote Control?)

Hi!
As a brand new owner of an EVO 2 i am looking at the very sparse accessories offerings.
What parts are the same, is the Remote COntrol identical so i could use Screen Protectors or Tablet Holders or Antenna Mods made for the original EVO's RC?

Although the battery is of course different, are the battery connectors (and possibly chargers) the same? (of course taking longer if using same charge current as used for the EVO 1).
On the images i found the connectors seem very similar at least.

I guess all Aircraft parts are drastically different or do you know otherwise?

Thanks for help :)

As far as I have been told every thing is slightly different, even the charger, check the label on each one, different voltages. The internals of the controller are different as well according to AUTEL, I believe the EVO 2 one will work with the EVO 1 but not vice versa... so basically... nothing... which is fine as long as we know. Cheers

Hi Charmin!
Thx for answering...
I am especially curious about the RC as there are some accessories for the "old" one that are available.
So its interesting if its at least emchanically the same so that stuff would fit.

"On the images i found the connectors seem very similar at least..." haha , yeaa dont worry how they are pinned out.. as long as they look similar, let me know how you get on with that one... I'd be happy to have the leftovers for spare, bit charred is fine... :) Cheers

Charmin, i simply meant at least its still possible the stuff works, i am aware of different pinout / protocol possibility.

So lets still hope :)

The controller looks identical, I use a DJI back clamp to hold my Tablet, well it was made for DJI but with a bit of modification it works fine, about $10 from Amazon, thats about all I have found useful.

The only other thing is extending the legs, they look identical for both 1 and 2, I used 11mm black plastic tube heated up the last inch or so, slide over the leg to give me an extra 2 1/2 " works a treat and weighs 18gm in total for all 4.. Ohh.. and floats... I'll put some pics up for you to see .

The controller is a tad better. They finally beefed up the antennas so they do not develop the stress cracks that most EVO I users had or have. Its a little different design with stronger material.

Good to know, as a noob i read a lot about broken Antennas on the EVO 1 and wondered why that should happen looking at the Antennas for my EVO 2. So thats the answer!

I hope they are still easy to open and Antennas are still connected via UFL and not soldered.
I contacted 4Hawks and offered to be a Guinea pig for the RP-SMA output...

You got to be creative in "CE-Land" to get some penetration...

First flights today (in between rain gusts) and the range / penetration is better then i feared, horrible drone not to be able to be hacked to FCC :p

Thx for the pix!

To my eye this looks very similar to my RC.
Lets see if 4Hawks comes back to me...
