I have been thinking about a quadcopter for a couple of years. Good thing I took my time as this is a
new thing for me and I just kept reading and learning. I joined both the MavicPilots and AutelPilots
forums to learn of the headaches and enjoyment from others preceeding me. I was surprised to
learn that Autel USA is only about 20 minutes from me.
Long story short, what pushed me to the Autel camp was the potential for camera swap out, the
geofencing was not restrictive like the DJI, and the better camera specs. There is still a bit of gambling
as firmware issues are still not quite dialed down perfectly. In the end, I got tired of reading while other
pilots were having fun and posting about it here and on Youtube.
I decided to go for the part 107 testing because with all this shelter-in-place time that I currently have,
I may as well put that to good use. The test should be relatively easy - I live about 15 minutes from
Boeing Field....and 30 minutes from Boeing Renton, both of which has site testing.
Okay, I'll begin paying more attention to your posts, now that I'm just kicking back awaiting B&H Photo
inventory to be replenished for my order (Evo II Pro 6k Rugged).
p.s. I piloted a drone toy over Mother's Day when I played with my brother's cheap toy drone. Buoyed
by the fact that I did not do a Top Gun crash and burn, it prompted me to move foreward even more.
