Is it possible to use panorama mode in the Evo 2 pro with firmware version 2.6.22? Although panorama is in the menu options, it doesn't seem to work.

You have to update firmware in your Aircraft. Not only app.

Once you update the app sw, and aircraft fw, you can shoot the panorams with the E2 Pro (or 8K).

Caveats, there are four pano modes, horiz, vert, big horiz, and 360 sphere. All except 360 sphere do in camera/aircraft stiching so there is short pause during the stich. You get in the folder for that pano the unstiched images, 6 for vert, 9 for big, 12 for horz plus the stiched jpg image. For 360, you only get the 26 unstiched images. A feature Autel should add is the ability to disable stiching while in the air.

Btw, there is no pano mode (or at least that have found) for missions, however you can use a wpt mission to position to where you need to do a pano, pause the mission, exit mission, go to pano and shoot. This is handy for when you need to do recurring panos for progress reporting etc.

You can stop stiching by pressing Panorama button (Android) if you want to Stich manual in external software.

That "short pause" completely freezes up the video feed, and lasts as long as the actual shooting originally took. A 180° pano takes 3 minutes and another 3 minutes to do the stitch. The 360° pano takes FOUR FULL MINUTES to just shoot the 26 images! DJI does it in 30 seconds, and then stitches them together with a cloned in ceiling in another 30 seconds! Why can't Autel speed up the process? I can shoot the 26 images manually in less than 90 seconds without any automation!

I did not check with a timer or stopwatch, however the 26 images for the 360 sphere took around 3-4 minutes to capture, maybe a minute or so longer than say with litchi or others. One thing I noticed vs. litchi and some others is that for the sphere, the aircraft took time to stabilize after moving and before taking photos. For the vertical pano (6 images) took about a min to capture, did not time the stich however seemed pretty quick, granted would prefer no delay so looking forward to trying the disable, stop stich option. Horizontal 9 image took about a minute to capture, and the 12 image pano took about 2 min.
