The website still shows 1.9.9 so obviously still confusing. Back in July Autel did the same thing by announcing Firmware 2.0.15 and then within 2 weeks pulling it. Wasn't any explanation and several pilots were left screwed for several days. Personally I'm not too confident in upgrading my aircraft and especially not if as Autel states "downgrading to a lower version is no longer supported" . Certainly don't want to be stuck with an expensive brick.

On my iPad (iOS) Mini 4 RC running Sky 1.6.8 I see some new firmware modules flagged for upgrades. I didn't get the prompt to install new firmware because from experience that only happens when you have the latest Sky app. I'm holding at 1.6.8 on my RC until I see good reason(s) to upgrade.

A lot of us learned to not update the firmware on Autel drones if the drone is working fine. I do the same thing with DJI drones unless they give me a functionality I really want. That usually happens right after a release of a new drone because the software wasn't fully baked at the time of release.

Doubtfull advice: Your insurance, it might require you to have your aircraft up to date.
All I can say is that those of us who have been flying them for 3+ years have learned this lesson the hard way. I do understand your point about the insurance though. Seems to me that if the drone is working fine and in compliance with all rules and regs, there should be no issue with the insurance but of course I'm no expert in that arena.

Would be interested to learn if anyone has insurance that doesn't require the updates. I have no interest in updating, either.
