New Evo 1 on the way... Firmware question

I have a brand new Evo 1 coming soon. Will I be forced to do a firmware update before I can fly?

Also, if and when I update firmware, will it automatically just upgrade to the latest available version?

1. You are not forced to do amy firmware update. It is completely optional.

2. When you do the firmware update, it will indeed go to rhe latest firmware, which is 1.5.8. Make sure to do the firmware update for all your batteries, if you do go with the firmware.
