is it supposed to hover at .5 m during auto landing?

I've just started flying my new Evo II and love it. When I RTH (just to test it, or at the end of an automated mission), it returns and 'lands', but hovers just above the take-off spot (having adjusted during descent to be directly over the take-off point). Obviously, I can manually land it at that point, but just wanted to check with you all whether this is its normal behavior, or whether it should land completely and shut down, and that something needs to be recalibrated?
THanks!

Using RTH; Mine lands somewhere on the launch pad every time. It does hover for a few seconds B4 landing, occasionally will "shift" just as it's landing, once it's on the ground, within a few seconds motors stop.

I have found that as you get to about or under 1 meter, the aircraft will want to try and land. On one hand this is not bad if you are over a surface where you can land.
