Formerly HMAS Otama, the 90-metre-long Oberon-class boat was in service with the navy for 22 years and was bought for $55,000 by the Western Port Oberon Association to become the centrepiece of a submarine museum
RAN (Royal Australian Navy).
The Otama was the last Oberon-class submarine built at Scotts' shipbuilding yards in Scotland and was decommissioned in December, 2000.
It is still waiting for its final resting place. No thanks to the people in power who can't decide where to put it.
Here are a couple of shots I took today. It was very windy and I almost chickened out but the XSP was fantastic.
