I've seen a few other posts with similar experiences but not the same.

PROBLEM: Video files created by my EVO II (v1) are assigned a capture date of 12/31/1969. On the other hand, photos get the correct capture date.

Has anyone found a solution for this? (I'm not looking for a workaround. I'm hoping for a solution so the EVO II will write the correct capture date to the video files.)

do you have the last sw ver on your evo2? are you capturing video on the microsd card or in the drone internal memory? did you try to reformat the memory space? describe your video files....mp4/mov? also describe your card/computer?

All good questions.

do you have the last sw ver on your evo2?

Yes

are you capturing video on the microsd card or in the drone internal memory?

MicroSD Card

did you try to reformat the memory space?

yes

describe your video files....mp4/mov?

mp4

also describe your card/computer?

I've tried with several cards. And I'm using a Mac.

Using the fantastic exiftool, I extracted the exif info for the video files. Here's a sample: (Note that the create and modify date are all zeros.)

not sure what could be the problem. perhaps you could try to reformat the card in another device first and then use it in your drone and see if that helps.

if you put that card in a GoPro and record a few files, does it have the correct date? and then put it in the autel and your new video files still have the incorrect date? that's amazing.

I have similar problems, not quite that bad but I have noticed the time and sometimes the date are not detected properly by the OS. I have given up on relying on the drone to add the proper date so I just add it to the Metadata myself as well as the file name.

The time is never right in the file attributes and I have seen the date vary by a few days as well for both photos and video. I checked to make sure that my tablet had the right date information and looked through the app for something related to time but did not find anything.

Clearly the drone knows the proper date and time because the flight logs are accurate but I am guessing a software bug keeps the proper information from being written to the media files. I do have old firmware, so I'm not sure if any of the subsequent firmware fixes the issue. Also the GPS signal includes very precise time stamps so you would think it would be trivial for them to put the right information in the media files.
