Could that be a crack from the battery swelling? That’s what it looks like to me. Anything out there regarding battery problems on evo 2?

No. There is plenty of material and space between battery and the outer chassis of the AE2 and the material also is very flexible. This seems like it broke while assembling the drone, impact or faulty material.

I sent Autel a pic. Hard to say where it came from. Not good on a new drone though. Besides that I love the drone!
