Auto braking

Hello,
I'm finally getting the opportunity to fly my E2P and today as I was flying down a stone path canopied with trees, the drone kept putting the brakes on and was not smooth at all. I had the obstacle sensors off but still displayed on my screen. Also, I noticed as I was returning my drone to land, it was only flying at 14 MPH. Anything I should look for in these issues?

I think the speed is capped with OA off in regular mode.
