Lite+ behavior when detecting a hand beneath it is different from DJI drones. A DJI drone would rise a bit when the hand is detected, and then you would move the stick down and grab it while it's descending towards the hand. The Lite+ don't move at all when you put your hand beneath it, so you just let it hover, grab it from beneath and move the stick down while you have it grabbed till the motors turn off (2-3 secs usually).
The sensors brake the drone when you are descending to prevent it from crashing to the ground, but don't get overconfident with it and always decelerate manually when you are approaching the ground. Once I nearly smashed it to the ground because the sensors didn't brake enough... missed the ground by less than 5cm.
